Year Ender 2023: Top 3 Budget Cars As Mass Market Segment Eyes Small SUVs
Year Ender 2023: Here are the top 3 budget cars as this year's mass market segment saw a shift towards small SUVs.
While premium compact SUVs are coming in big numbers, the budget segment has also not been ignored by manufacturers and 2023 saw quite a few launches in the mass market segment as a shift towards small SUVs is seen.
Hyundai Exter
The Exter is the smallest Hyundai SUV but packs in a lot within its compact SUV dimensions. Aside from the boxy looks which get the latest Hyundai design details, the Exter offers up decent space and the AMT version is the highlight with paddle shifters also on offer.
It also scores highly in terms of safety, its ground clearance and its overall driving dynamics along with the fact that it offers good value for money for the price that it commands. The Exter is available with a 1.2l petrol.
Maruti Suzuki Fronx
The Fronx looks good and yet again scores as a small SUV which offers up the typical Maruti traits but also fun with its turbo petrol although it is indeed priced slightly higher than the 1.2l petrol. The design is the big talking point of the Fronx with the mini Grand Vitara-like styling plus it gets a pretty spacious cabin tool.
The AMT version with the 1.2l petrol is our recommendation unless you want more performance then the turbo petrol is a good buy too.
MG Comet
The small MG Comet is certainly something quite interesting and is not only the most affordable EV but also the smallest car that you can get in India. The Comet packs in a decent amount of features though and is surprisingly spacious for its tiny size as well.
In terms of range, the Comet packs 230km while the running costs are much cheaper than a conventional petrol hatchback. Amongst the usual new budget cars, the Comet is quite different!
