Volvo will soon launch its most affordable EV in India, the EX30. The EX30 is its smallest SUV and slots in below the EX40. This would be its entry level luxury SUV and could be locally assembled in India to keep costs competitive although we are yet to get any confirmations on that. While being compact, the EX30 has resemblance to the bigger EX90 which has not been launched here. The ‘Thor’s Hammer’ headlights can be seen here but the crossover-like dimensions can also be seen here.

The interiors have the 12.3-inch massive portrait screen and will also have a minimalist design philosophy. Of course, it will have a Google-based system added also. For India we expect 69kWh single and dual motor versions with 427bhp while range could be near 500km. The 0-100 km/h time of the EX30 is claimed to be around 3.4 seconds which is pretty quick as well. In India we can get the Plus and the Ultra trim while again specifications for our market are not known. The EX30 would be the most affordable Volvo in India and open a new market for them.

Equipment levels will include ADAS, 360 degree camera, powered seats and a Harman Kardon audio system along with a panoramic glass roof of course. Stay tuned for more details on the EX30 as Volvo plans to launch it soon in our market. The EX30 would be the smallest but also one of the most affordable SUVs around in the EV segment while it remains to be seen where Volvo will place it in the Indian market.
