ABP Live Auto Awards 2024: Triumph Speed 400 Receives Bike Of The Year

ABP Live Auto Awards 2024 – Bike Of The Year: The new Triumph Speed 400 rises above the other motorcycles to roar away with our top prize.

Our bike of the year is none other than the Triumph Speed 400. Last year, In collaboration with Bajaj, Triumph introduced the highly anticipated Speed 400 motorcycle. This latest addition to the Triumph lineup combines elements from its elder siblings, the Speed 900 and Speed 1200, making it an ideal choice with its design elements.

Design

Talking about the design cues, this motorcycle gets LED headlamps, side blinkers, and tail lights. It also features an upswept exhaust on the side and a semi-digital instrument cluster, which features an analogue speedometer on the left and a digital display on the right, offering all the required information like tachometer, odometer, fuel gauge, time, and gear position. The quality of material and overall build of this motorcycle are top-notch and uncompromised, which was noted by our jurors.

Speed

Mechanically, the Triumph Speed 400 derives power from a 398.15cc, liquid-cooled motor that produces power and torque outputs of 40 PS and 37.5 Nm. The engine comes coupled to a 6-speed gearbox. This 400cc powertrain is quite potent and impresses our jury the most. It offers a good punch from the initial end till the top end. Along with punchy performance, this motorcycle also offers impressive mileage. The Triumph Speed 400 gets a 13-litre fuel tank 30kmpl of mileage. The manufacturer has worked well in keeping the vibrations under control.  The suspension duties are done by golden-coloured upside-down forks up front and an adjustable mono-shock at the rear.
