Tata Motors Launches India's First EV-Only Showroom

More Tata Motors electric vehicles-only showrooms in other cities will follow the two outlets in Gurugram.

Tata Motors has inaugurated the first electric car-only showroom in Gurugram. As part of the initial launch, it has opened two stores. The automaker plans to open similar showrooms in more cities. This development follows the establishment of Tata.ev as a separate entity and brand, featuring cars with a distinct design language and features compared to standard Tata vehicles.

These stores differ in design compared to other Tata showrooms, boasting a premium look. They will both sell and host dedicated service centers for Tata EVs. With a significant market share in the EV space, Tata aims to strengthen its dominance and establish a distinct identity from its traditional combustion-engined cars.

These stores have an eco-friendly aesthetic and are constructed from sustainable materials, also incorporating screens for customizing cars. This marks India's first dedicated showroom for EVs. While standard showrooms will continue to sell EVs, these dedicated stores emphasize the unique needs of the EV buyer compared to the conventional car buyer. The store showcases all Tata EVs, including the recently launched Nexon EV, Tiago, and Tigor EV.

Another reason for the dedicated store is the growing lineup of EVs from Tata Motors, which could potentially strain space in standard showrooms. Hence, a separate store for EVs becomes imperative. This necessity aligns with Tata's aggressive expansion of its EV product portfolio, featuring upcoming models like the Punch EV, Harrier EV, Curvv EV, and the flagship Sierra EV, representing Tata.EV's most premium offering.
