Auto Expo 2023: Kia To Showcase Sorento And New Carnival In India

Auto Expo 2023 India: The new generation Carnival could be showcased while we do expect it to arrive on our shores.

Alongside the EV9 concept, Kia might show the new generation Carnival and the Sorento SUV. Both these products are premium family cars which would be the flagship models above the Seltos. The new generation Carnival could be showcased while we do expect it to arrive on our shores. The newer model is a lot more premium now while being much longer. It would be one of the longest cars in its class being comfortable above 5m. The longer wheelbase also means more space inside along with more luxuries.

The current generation Carnival has been around for a while but the new generation model brings in much more technologies while pampering rear-seat occupants as well. The interior design for example has two screens merged while the material quality or the design is similar to a luxury car now. Details like sliding doors, multi-zone climate control and leg rest for the rear seat further add a luxury factor. We expect the 2.2l diesel to continue with the new Carnival while a standard automatic gearbox is also there.

The other big product would be the Sorento which again could be a nice fit in the Kia range as a 7-seater Tucson rival of sorts. The new generation Sorento is larger and has a more aggressive look while being a proper 7-seater with three-row seating. It also gets a lot of premium features which is expected while ADAS level 2 features are also there.

Globally it gets hybrid petrol or powerful turbo petrol. It is still early to say when these cars are coming but it does indicate that this year, we might see these two at a Kia showroom. The new Carnival will now also be looking at a higher price point and will form its own niche while the Sorento will be placed in the hotly contested 7-seater luxury SUV segment.
