Sharadiya Navratri will commence on October 3, 2024, and conclude on October 12, 2024, on the occasion of Dussehra. Among all the Navratris, Sharadiya Navratri is the most popular and significant. During these nine days, idols of the Goddess are installed in pandals, and various religious rituals like Garba, Jagrata, and Durga Puja are performed.

Significance Of Sharadiya Navratri

Sharadiya Navratri is celebrated from the Pratipada to Navami of the Shukla Paksha in the month of Ashwin. Due to its occurrence during the Sharad (autumn) season, it is called Sharadiya Navratri. According to Hindu mythology, Goddess Durga fought Mahishasura for nine days during Sharadiya Navratri for the welfare of the world and defeated him on Vijayadashami, thus protecting her devotees.
