Significance Of Masik Shivratri Vrat:

It is mentioned in the Shiva Purana that observing a fast on the fourteenth day brings auspicious results from Lord Shiva. Shivratri is a festival marking the union of Shiva and Shakti. According to religious beliefs, the grace of Lord Shiva can turn the fortunes of devotees who observe the fast. Those facing difficulties in marriage are believed to overcome obstacles through his blessings.

Why Is Puja Performed On Masik Shivratri Night:

According to Puranic beliefs and the Shiva Purana, the tradition is to worship Lord Shiva on the day of every monthly Shivratri fast during the four prahars (four parts) of the night. It is believed that Lord Shiva's marriage to Goddess Parvati took place during the night of Chaturdashi. During the night, practitioners are able to focus on Shiva meditation with concentration, making the midnight hour the best time for Shiva Linga worship.
