Holika Dahan 2024: Holika Dahan is an important day as per Hindu mythology as it is the story of the victory of truth and good over evil. According to mythology, the day is linked with Lord Vishnu and his devotee, i.e., the son of demon king Hiranyakashipu. Holika was Hiranyakashipu's sister who received a boon that made her immune to fire. She then tried to kill her nephew Prahlada by putting him on her lap in a bonfire when her brother told her to do so because of his devotion to Lord Vishnu. However, Lord Vishnu helped Prahlad, saved him, and immolated Holika.
