Independence Day 2022: AP CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy Hoists National Flag In Vijayawada

Tableaux of several departments representing the welfare programmes issued and carried out by the Andhra Pradesh Government were displayed as part of the celebrations.

Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has participated in the Independence day celebrations as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, held at Indira Gandhi Stadium in Vijayawada on Monday. 

CM Jagan hoisted the national flag and received the traditional guard of honor from the inter-services units and the police. Tableaux of several departments representing the welfare programmes issued and carried out by the Andhra Pradesh Government were displayed as part of the celebrations.

On this occasion, CM Jagan said India had become a top country in the field of food, and medicine. In 1947, only 18 per cent of the agricultural land in the country had irrigation water, but now it has reached 49 per cent. He said that standing third in the world in the pharma field is proof of the country's strength. After independence, we faced many challenges like a lack of food grains. However, at present, we have grown to the level of exporting to 150 countries.

He said that the AP government is also competing with other states and achieving productivity in many fields. He said that it is the speciality of his government to provide welfare schemes to the people and contribute to the prosperity of all communities.

"Several feats have been achieved in 3 years under the rule of the YSRCP government. By spending Rs 1.27 lakh crores for the welfare of the farmers, the farmers have been assured. 40,000 new jobs have been given in 3 years. The 'Amma Vodi' scheme has ensured the education of students from low-income families. With 50 per cent reservation for BC, SC, ST and minorities in the nominated posts, social justice has been given importance," The CM said.

Taking to his Twitter handle, CM Jagan wrote, "The National Flag hoisted today was the embodiment of our freedom. It is a symbol of our great democracy and the sovereignty of the people of the country. The National Flag is also a symbol of India's spirit and our self-respect. Happy Independence Day to all the people of the state."
