IMD Predicts Heavy Rains To Lash Telangana, Andhra Pradesh
Hyderabad Met Office said the low pressure is turning into a severe storm
Hyderabad: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that low pressure has turned into a cyclone and is moving towards north Odisha. Due to this, short spells of rain likely to continue in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Yanam and Odisha.
IMD issued an orange alert for two districts of Telangana for heavy downpours. A yellow alert has also been issued for 13 districts where rain is expected. The surface period extends up to 1.5 km above sea level.
Hyderabad Met Office said the low pressure is turning into a severe storm. As a result, heavy to very heavy rainfall will occur in some districts of Telangana for the next two days. For heavy rains, an orange alert has been issued for Komuram Bhim Asifabad and Manchiryala districts.
The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for heavy rains at some places in Adilabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Siricilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalapalli, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanumakonda and Jangaon districts. Winds will blow at 30-40 kms per hour in some parts of the state.

Yellow Alert In Nine Districts Of Andhra Pradesh
Amaravati Met office predicted there would be rains in north coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam for two more days. Heavy rains are expected at some places in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari and West Godavari districts. The meteorological centre has issued a yellow alert for these five districts. In some places, there will be rains with thunder and lightning, and people have been warned to be alert. Winds will blow at 40-50 kilometres per hour on the coastal areas, said the Met department.
Moderate to heavy rains will occur in South Coastal Andhra districts. The weather body has issued a yellow alert for Guntur, Prakasam, Krishna and Nellore districts in anticipation of heavy rain. There will be isolated thunder and lightning rainfall in parts of the state. There is no rain forecast for Rayalaseema. However, there will be light showers in parts of the Kurnool, Kadapa, Anantapur and Chittoor districts.
