Andhra Pradesh Govt Imposes Precautionary Restrictions In View Of Bakrid
The state government has directed all the Heads of the Departments and District Collectors/Commissioners/Superintendents of Police to monitor the places of worship on both Tuesday and Wednesday.
Vijayawada: With a declining Covid trend, the Andhra Pradesh government has recently started further relaxing the lockdown curbs in the state. But amid growing concern about the presumed third wave, the Jagan Reddy government has imposed strict curbs ahead of Eid-Al-Azha on Tuesday.
The government of Andhra Pradesh issued precautionary guidelines for Eid-ul-Azha (Bakrid on July 20/21) celebrations stating that prayers shall not be performed in Eidgahs or at open places and should be offered in the Masjids with 50 per cent occupancy to avoid large congregations.

Here are the restrictions imposed in the state of Andhra Pradesh in view of Bakrid on Tuesday and Wednesday:
- Eid-ul-Adha (Bakrid) prayers shall not be performed in Edgahs or at open places and prefer to offer prayers in the Masajits only, to avoid large congregations.
- Prayers should be performed only in Masjids confining to 50 per cent occupancy maintaining a safe distance between people (6 ft) and other precautionary health norms.
- If necessitated the Ed prayers can be conducted separately in different spells.
- No one shall be allowed to Masjids to offer prayers without wearing masks.
- Every devotee coming to the Masjid for prayers is advised to perform Wudhu at home and bring their own prayer mats.
- The Managements of the Masjids shall keep a sufficient number of sanitizers at the entry points. Before entry/exit of the Masjid, hands shall be cleansed with sanitizer or soap.
- Imams and Khateebs are requested to keep the sermons short.
- Senior citizens, children and people with cough, cold, or fever are appealed to perform the Eid prayers at their homes only. Besides, people suffering from diabetes, high BP and other co-morbidities are also advised to offer prayers at their homes only.
- Further, it is also advised to avoid meeting relatives, Eid-Milap programs, handshaking, hugging with each other, etc., in order to keep the virus at bay.
