Andhra Pradesh: KRIBHCO Bio-Ethanol Project To Come Up At Nellore

Krishak Bharathi Co-operative Limited (KRIBHCO) will set up a Bio-Ethanol plant at Sarvepalli in Nellore district.

Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy held a meeting of the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) on Thursday at the CM Camp Office in Tadepalli. Krishak Bharathi Co-operative Limited (KRIBHCO) will set up a Bio-Ethanol plant at Sarvepalli in Nellore district in two tranches with Rs 560 crore with a plant capacity of 250 KLD.

The plant, which will be set up on 100 acres, would employ 400 people. The company told the state government that it was moving towards setting up various processing units, including more seed processing units.

Under the Andhra Pradesh Export Promotion Policy 2022-27, further measures were adopted to promote and double current exports in five years. The goal is to reach Rs 3.5 lakh crore in exports over the next five years, and the SIP has approved many policies in this direction. SIPB also authorised several measures under the Andhra Pradesh Logistics Policy 2022–2027.

Most of the exports from the state are from the aqua sector, Jagan said and ordered to take steps to increase the quality of aqua products. He said that steps should be taken to improve the quality of aqua products through farmer assurance centres.

CM Jagan said that 46 per cent of the country's marine exports come from Andhra Pradesh, so this sector needs to be promoted appropriately. He suggested Continuous monitoring of the permitting process for industries in a single desk manner. He directed the authorities to take steps to expedite the approval of the establishment of a data centre in Visakhapatnam.
