Andhra Pradesh: CM Jagan Mohan Reddy Inaugurates YSR Yantra Seva Scheme In Guntur

A subsidy of Rs 175.61 Crore was also deposited in 5,262 farmer group bank accounts.

Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy participated in the state-level mega Mela organised under the YSR Yantra Seva scheme (farm mechanisation) at Guntur district. The Chief Minister also flagged off the distribution of 3,800 tractors and 320 combined mowers for farmer groups. Reddy also deposited a subsidy of Rs 175.61 crore in bank acccounts of 5,262 farmers' group by clicking a button at the event.

Speaking at the occasion, CM Jagan said that Rythu Bharosa Kendras had been set up in every village to assist farmers in every stage, from seed supply to crop purchase.

The government is also setting up 1,615 similar centres with combined harvesters, each costing Rs 25 lakh, in 20 districts that cultivate paddy. These centres are run by farmers' groups which are given a 40% subsidy on the cost of these machines. The state government has allocated Rs 808 crore for subsidies, said Jagan.

The objective of YSR Yantra Seva is to assist farmers in reducing farm inputs in view of increasing farm labour costs while also encouraging them to adopt contemporary farming methods that need less investment and gives more yield.

Farmers will save money and time by using farm mechanisation, from planting seeds to harvesting crops. Farmers who cannot afford to purchase expensive farm equipment on their own can rent it from custom hire centres and RBKs across the state.
