Andhra Pradesh CM Jagan Mohan Reddy To Hold Party Meeting On April 3
The meeting assumes significance in the wake of the party candidates’ recent defeat in the elections to MLC seats under the Graduates’ and MLA quota
YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) founder-president and Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will hold a key meeting with party leaders, including regional coordinators, MLAs, MLCs and others, on April 3. The meeting will be held at the Tadepalli camp office at 3 pm on Monday.
Jagan is likely to review the performance of his legislators regarding the progress of the ‘Gadapa Gadapa Ku Mana Prabhutvam’ programme and to direct the cadre on the 'Jagananne Maa Bhavishyattu' campaign. In the meeting, the party is also expected discuss the proposed cabinet rejig that is likely to take place in the coming days.
The meeting also assumes significance in the wake of the party candidates’ recent defeat in the elections to MLC seats under the Graduates’ and MLA quota, in which the ruling YSRCP lost seats to the opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP).

It may be noted that the CM has been reviewing the performance of MLAs regularly through various surveys. Jagan is also observing the leaders’ participation in the Gadapa Gadapaku Mana Prabhutvam programme, aimed at improving the implementation of government welfare schemes and reaching out to people in the state.
YSRCP has suspended four of its MLAs: Anam Ramanarayana Reddy (Venkatagiri Assembly Constituency), Mekapati Chandrasekhar Reddy (Udayagiri Assembly Constituency), Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy (Nellore Rural Assembly Constituency), and Vundvalli Sridevi (Tadikonda Assembly Constituency) from the party for allegedly cross-voting in the election for seven MLC seats.
The move is being seen as a strong signal sent by Jagan to make it clear that any dissidence or anti-party activity would be dealt with severely and no one would be spared if he or she crosses the line.
The Chief Minister would also be guiding the party legislators in improving their performance and communicating door-to-door with the people to explain the government's welfare schemes. The role of the party-appointed ‘Gruhasaradhulu’ would also be discussed during the meeting.
