PM Modi embarks on two-day visit to Nepal

New Delhi [India], May 11 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday left for Nepal from Palam international airport at New Delhi.

He is scheduled to arrive in Nepal at around 10:15 am (IST), following which he will be visiting the Ram Janaki temple there.

PM Modi is expected to be accompanied by the high-level officials from both India and Nepal.

Prime Minister Modi will then flag-off a new bus service named Janakpur-Ayodha bus (TBC) and launch Ramayana Circuit.

The Ramayana Circuit is one among the 13 tourist circuits under the Swadesh Darshan scheme. Ministry of Tourism jotted down 15 destinations in the Ramayana Circuit, in an effort to promote religious tourism. The destinations are chosen according to the places where Lord Ram is believed to have travelled across India.

Further in the day, PM Modi will be given a ceremonial reception at Barhabigha ground.

He will then leave for Nepal's capital Kathmandu.

During his two-day visit, Prime Minister Modi and his Nepali counterpart K.P. Oli will jointly inaugurate the hydro-electric project Arun III.

The two sides will hold bilateral talks as well.

Prime Minister Modi is also scheduled to meet President of Nepal Bidhya Devi Bhandari and Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun.

Prime Minister Modi will also visit Muktinath temple in Mustang District and will depart for India on Saturday evening.
