No news on convicts on Pakistan's PTV World

Islamabad [Pakistan], Jul 12 (ANI): Pakistan's PTV World has decided not to show or have a discussion about any convicted person on any PTV Channel or Programme.

The Pakistani channel issued an internal order directing its employees about the same.

This comes a day after former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, who is convicted in Avenfield case, addressed media in London.

Talking to media on Wednesday, Sharif accused Pakistan's Army and its intelligence agency Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) of attempting to rig the elections and swing it in favour of certain political parties like Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

Nawaz Sharif and his daughter, Maryam Nawaz, are set to return back to Pakistan from London on July 13. On July 6, Nawaz was sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment and a fine of eight million pounds was slapped on him in the Avenfield reference case, while Maryam was sentenced to seven years of jail and fined two million pounds, by the Accountability Court.
