Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Kartavya Path on Thursday at 7pm. He will also unveil the statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose at India Gate on the occasion. In its pursuit of doing away with the colonial past, the Modi government will replace erstwhile Rajpath with Kartavya Path “being an example of public ownership and empowerment.” “These steps are in line with Prime Minister’s second ‘Panch Pran’ for New India in Amrit Kaal: ‘remove any trace of colonial mindset,” read the official press release by the Prime Minister’s Office.
