Breaking News: Major NIA Operation Targets Human Trafficking Network | ABP News
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is currently conducting raids across 22 locations in 6 states in connection with a human trafficking case. The operation is part of an investigation into an international human trafficking racket, with potential foreign involvement. According to reports, several people from Bihar's Gopalganj district were lured under the pretext of overseas jobs, only to be trafficked into fake call centers where they were forced to work on cyber fraud schemes. The NIA suspects links to Myanmar and Laos in this racket. Earlier, on October 5, the NIA carried out similar raids in five states in connection with terrorist activities and funding. These operations targeted locations in Maharashtra, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Assam, and Delhi, and were linked to the terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed. The NIA had also conducted searches in Baramulla and other areas in Jammu and Kashmir with the help of security forces. Additionally, in October, the NIA carried out raids in multiple districts of West Bengal, including South 24 Parganas, Asansol, Howrah, Nadia, and Kolkata.
