Breaking News: Champai Soren Makes Serious Allegations Against JMM Before Joining BJP | ABP News

Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren is set to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday, August 29, after resigning from the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM). Soren stated that he left the party he had served for many years due to its "current style of functioning and policies." Meanwhile, JMM has alleged that Soren's defection is part of 'Operation Lotus,' a term used to describe attempts to overthrow governments in states led by non-BJP parties. On Thursday, a day before his official induction into the BJP, Champai Soren defended his decision, explaining that it came after "much consideration." He expressed his intention to protect the tribal community from within the BJP, highlighting concerns about the declining tribal population and his desire to advocate for their rights. "I will join the BJP tomorrow, and then take on whatever responsibilities come my way," he told ANI. Soren's son, Babulal Soren, also supported his father's decision, arguing that JMM had failed to show them respect, whereas the BJP had welcomed them with dignity.
