Govt selling onion at Rs 59 per kg in Bhowanipore, Kolkata
The prices of onion in West Bengal have reached Rs100. People in the state are disturbed because of rising price. To deal with the situation in Kolkata's Bhowanipore government has set up camps and distributing onions at Rs 59. Those purchasing onions from these camps will get half a kg. Union Food and Consumer Affairs Minister Ram Vilas Paswan on Wednesday said the government cannot keep the rising onion prices in check, saying, "it's not in our hands" to tackle the crisis. However, Ram Vilas Paswan said that government is doing everything to control the prices.
