Dancers Dressed As 'The Nun' At Garba Event Leave Internet Divided

"Wait where is this organised and how are they even allowed with such costumes," commented one person on the post.

Garba, a Gujarati dance form is amongst the man highlights of the Navratri festivities, and is enjoyed by people across the country. It is usually performed wearing traditional dress and moving in a circular pattern with a sweeping action from side to side to the beats of dhol and folk music. However, two people decided to completely ditch the traditional outfit and experiment something new. In the video gone viral, they can be seen enjoying Garba night dressed as Valak from the horror film The Nun.

Shared on X, formerly Twitter, by @DudeWhoCode, the two dancers can be seen wearing long black gowns along with a head scarf resembling the character of the Hollywood horror film. As the duo dance to the Garba beats with ease at the gathering, people look at them with a little amusement.

The video that has gone viral with over 1 lakh views, has evoked mixed reactions. Some have draw parallels with Halloween, the Western festival where people get dressed as spooky characters.

"Kellogs Cornflakes trying to find a place with Poha & Upma," one user jokingly commented on the post.

"Looks more like "maa ke bhoot bhakts"," wrote  another user.

While a third wrote, "Wait where is this organised and how are they even allowed with such costumes."

"How would people react if people dressed as sadhu babas were doing dandiya?," commented a fourth.
