Karwa Chauth: Man Detained After Video Of Wife Thrashing Him On Being Caught With Girlfriend Goes Viral

The man was caught shopping with his girlfriend on Karwa Chauth, which was celebrated on Thursday. 

A video of a woman beating up her husband at a busy Ghaziabad market after he was caught shopping with his girlfriend on the occassion of Karwa Chauth has gone viral. The man has been detained after his wife lodged a complaint, ANI quoted A Jain, CO Kotwali, Ghaziabad, as saying. 

The man was caught shopping with his girlfriend on Karwa Chauth, which was celebrated on Thursday. 

In the video, the wife and some of her friends are seen grabbing the collar of her husband and beating him up in full public view. A large crowd had gathered at the location.

When the man's girlfriend tries to help him, she is also thrashed.

Following the incident, the wife lodged a formal complaint against her husband.

The wife was staying with her parents after a fight with her husband, a report in NDTV said. On Karwa Chauth, she had gone shopping with her mother. That is when she noticed her husband with someone else.

Karwa Chauth is a Hindu festival celebrated primarily in the country's north and west. Married women fast on this day and pray for the long life of their husbands. Karwa Chauth is observed on the fourth day of the Krishna Paksha, or dark fortnight, in the Hindu month of Kartik.
