In Andhra Pradesh, Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) has intensified efforts to curb the smuggling of narcotics. In collaboration with Odisha police, ANTF has been leveraging advanced technologies such as satellite imagery and drones to identify and eradicate ganja cultivation at its source. Pre-emptive raids during critical cultivation periods are part of their strategy to disrupt the supply chain.
Ganja cultivation is prevalent in parts of Visakhapatnam, other districts in north coastal Andhra, and neighboring Odisha. In recent months, several peddlers have been arrested in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana while attempting to transport ganja to other states.
