Telangana: TSRTC To Charge 50% Extra On Special Buses To Statue Of Equality In Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) on Thursday issued orders to levy 50 per cent additional charges on special buses being operated from various parts of Hyderabad for the Sri Ramanuja millennium celebrations in Muchintal.
However, officials said that a final decision on the extra charges on special buses for the Sammakka-Saralamma festival which is to commence from February 13 had not been taken yet.
TSRTC did not charge extra for special buses during Dussehra and Sankranti festivals. Reportedly, RTC has displayed a revenue of Rs 337.79 crore in January 2021 and Rs 287.07 crore in January 2022. The revenue has decreased by Rs 51 crore this year.

The chanting of 'Ashtakshari' opened the Sri Ramanuja Sahasrabdi celebrations, which will last for 12 days until February 14 in the presence of about 5000 priests.
The Ashtakshari Mahamantra Japam, which started at 6.30 AM on Friday morning, will continue till 7:30 PM. Homam started at 8.30 AM. Following which at 10:30 AM there was a sermon by Gudimella Muralikrishnamacharya, the chief priest of Bhadrachalam.
