Telangana Police Constable Recruitment 2022: Over 6 Lakh Appear For Prelims Written Exam

The preliminary examination was conducted at 1,601 examination centres in and around Hyderabad and 38 other towns across the state.

Hyderabad: Over 6 lakh candidates appeared on Sunday for the preliminary written exam to recruit 16,000 police constables in Telangana. Out of 6,61,198 candidates who had applied for the posts, 91.34 per cent of candidates appeared in the exam. After passing the preliminary exam, the candidates must appear for the PET and the final written examination.

The Telangana State Police Recruitment Board conducted the exams on Sunday (August 28) to fill the Civil, Transport and Excise Constable posts in Telangana. The notification was issued in April for the recruitment of 15,644 vacancies of police constables, 63 in the transport department and 614 constable posts in the excise department. 6,61,196 candidates applied for the respective posts.

The preliminary examination was conducted at 1,601 examination centres in and around Hyderabad and 38 other towns across the state. The written test was successfully administered on time and with meticulous observance of all rules and regulations. Officials said that the candidates' biometric attendance, including their digital fingerprints and pictures, were taken during the test to make the next step easier to complete.

The preliminary key for the above test will be made available on the official website www.tslprb.in within a few days.

City Police Commissioner CV Anand visited examination centres at Osmania University. "The preliminary written test has been conducted smoothly, by abiding by all the norms and regulations. City police has made elaborate arrangements at the exam centers. Senior officers also made surprise checks at various centers," he said as quoted by IANS.

"City police had offered the free pre-recruitment training for aspiring candidates in all the five zones," he added.
