Telangana MLA Poaching Row: Minister KTR Asks TRS Leaders To Refrain From Giving Statements To Media

On Thursday, Telangana BJP general secretary Parminder Reddy approached the High Court and sought the case to be transferred to CBI.

New Delhi: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) working president and Minister KT Rama Rao on Thursday asked the party leaders and cadres not to speak to mediapersons regarding the MLA poaching allegations against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as the investigation is in the preliminary stage.

Taking to Twitter, KTR said," Because the MLAs poaching case is in the preliminary investigation stage, I request TRS party leaders shouldn't give any kind of statements to the media".

On Thursday, Telangana BJP general secretary Parminder Reddy approached the High Court in connection with an alleged poaching attempt of four TRS legislators and sought the case to be transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

The petition seeks that a special investigation team be formed to conduct an enquiry into the case, registered at Moniabad Police Station, so that the probe is conducted in a free and fair manner and to safeguard the interest of justice.

According to reports, three men were booked by the Cyberabad police after they were found at a farmhouse in Aziz Nagar near Hyderabad while allegedly trying to entice four Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) legislators with promises of large sums of money, prestigious jobs, and contracts. The arrests were made on Wednesday.

Based on a complaint of TRS MLA Pilot Rohit Reddy, police registered an FIR against Nanda Kumar of Hyderabad, Ramachandra Bharati alias Satish Sharma of Delhi, and Simhayaji Swamy of Tirupati.
