Telangana Governor Accepts Resignations Of TSPSC Chairman, 3 Members

Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan's acceptance of the resignations sets the stage for the Congress government, which assumed office last month, to appoint a new chairman for the commission.

Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan on Wednesday accepted the resignation of Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) Chairman Dr B Janardhan Reddy and its members Professor Bandi Linga Reddy, R Satyanarayana and Sri Karam Ravinder Reddy. Janardhan Reddy and three others submitted their resignations in the backdrop of the controversy over the leak of the question papers of recruitments test conducted by the Commission.

The Governor's acceptance of the resignations sets the stage for the Congress government, which assumed office last month, to appoint a new chairman for the commission.

Addressing concerns and dispelling misinformation regarding the timing of the resignation acceptance, a press release from Raj Bhavan on Wednesday clarified that there was no delay on the part of the Governor.

The Governor swiftly forwarded the resignations in accordance with Business Rules to the state government. The file, including remarks and the opinion of the Advocate General, was circulated through the chief minister after a thorough examination of the matter, as outlined in the press release.

Highlighting the significant role of the ongoing investigation by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in the decision-making process, the release emphasized that the state government, having reviewed the resignations and sought the Advocate General's opinion, sent the file to the Governor through the Chief Minister for the acceptance of all four resignations on January 9.

"The Governor on January 10th accepted all four resignations without prejudice to the ongoing investigations and any potential future criminal proceedings," it said.

The Raj Bhavan assures all people of the state in general and the unemployed youth in particular that every precaution has been taken to safeguard the interests of the unemployed youth in this process, the release said.

"The entire process of acceptance of resignations was completed in one day with utmost diligence and in adherence to legal procedures," it added.
