National Girl Child Day 2022: Telangana Minister Satyavathi Rathod Inaugurates Sakhi Kendra In Mulugu
Satyavathi said under CM K Chadrashekar Rao 's leadership, the Telangana state government has given the highest priority to girls 'education.
Hyderabad: Telangana Minister for ST, Women & Child Welfare Satyavathi Rathore inaugurated the permanent home of Sakhi Kendra, a one-stop centre for resolving all women's issues, on the occasion of National Girl Child Day in Mulugu district. The building was constructed at the cost of Rs 49 lakh.
Under the Rural Transport Facilitation Scheme (Rural Transport Scheme), 10 transport vehicles worth Rs 1 crore were distributed to the beneficiaries.
Later, Satyavati Rathore unveiled a Women's Helpline 181 poster. Sarees were distributed to Anganwadi Staff. She inspected the Roads & Buildings Department (R&B) Guest House works in Mulugu.
The Minister was accompanied by MP Malothu Kavitha, ZDP Chairman Kusuma Jagadish, Collector Krishna Aditya, AP Vasant Rao, EE Hemalatha, District Welfare Officer Premalatha, ZP CEO Prasuna, ZPTCs, MPP, MPTC, local public representatives, other officials and leaders.
Satyavathi said that the Telangana state government has given the highest priority to girls' education and, more importantly, to digital education in the institutions. She said CM KCR has started 53 women's residential degree colleges in the state.
She also said, the Telangana government has given top priority to women and girls and is implementing many programs for their welfare and development like nowhere else in the country. The state government is also giving pregnant women Rs 2,000 per month for six months with an intention of mothers' should have nutritious food and give birth to healthy babies.
She said we are constantly raising awareness through TVs, radios and outdoor media about the importance given to girls' education. We organize village councils and women's councils at the zonal level to train parents on the prevention of feticide, protection, and education.
She said the state government had given priority to girls, and programs for them have resulted in a significant increase in the ratio of boys to girls in the state. Minister Satyavathi Rathore warned that the Telangana government has been prioritising girls' protection, welfare, and development and would take stern action against those who attack and abuse them.
