Former Telangana MLA’s Son Named Accused In 2022 Road Accident That Killed Toddler
The police decided to reopen the case after Raheel was arrested for allegedly crashing his luxury car into a traffic barricade near Praja Bhavan.
Mohammed Raheel Amir, also known as Sahel and the son of former Bodhan MLA Mohammed Shakil Amir, has been named as an accused by Hyderabad Police in a 2022 road accident case that resulted in the tragic death of a toddler. Raheel Amir, who was arrested last week in an unrelated case, is now under scrutiny once again.
The authorities have decided to reopen the case from February 2022, which unfolded on Road Number 45 in Jubilee Hills. The incident occurred when a car, reportedly driven by Raheel, struck Kajal Chouhan, causing her to drop a two-month-old toddler she was carrying while crossing the road. Tragically, the infant lost the life in the accident.
The police decided to reopen the case after Raheel was arrested for allegedly crashing his luxury car into a traffic barricade near Praja Bhavan. This time, no one was injured in the mishap but the front portion of the car was damaged.
They revealed that the incident in 2022 involved a Thar vehicle with an MLA sticker which collided with balloon sellers crossing the road. Among them was Kajal and other balloon vendors from Maharashtra.
Initially, three individuals fled the scene, leaving the vehicle behind. Syed Afnan Ahmed later surrendered to the police, admitting to driving the car. He implicated Raheel and another acquaintance, Mohammed Maaz, as passengers in the vehicle. However, in light of the recent developments, all individuals were questioned again.
Subsequent investigations uncovered similarities between this incident and the recent one near Praja Bhavan. It appeared that an unrelated individual was made to surrender in the 2022 case while Raheel was allegedly behind the wheel during the accident.
