Telangana IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao once again reiterated that India doesn't have a national language and Hindi is just one among the many official languages.
Telangana IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao on Wednesday once again reiterated that India doesn't have a national language and Hindi is just one among the many official languages.
KTR slamming Centre on Hindi imposition came a day after Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin launched a tirade over the same issue. Taking to Twitter, the Telangana Minister said, "India does not have a National language & Hindi is one among the many official languages. To impose Hindi by way of mandating in IITs & central Govt recruitments, NDA Govt is flouting the federal spirit. Indians should have a choice of language & we say No to Hindi imposition."
The TRS working president took it to Twitter tagging an image of a newspaper cutout, with the headline that reads, "Shah-headed panel bats for replacing English with Hindi in IITs, courts".

Earlier in April, when Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that people from different states should speak in Hindi and not in English, TRS leader KTR reminded the Union Minister that India is union of states and a true ‘Vasudhaika Kutumbam’. He further reiterated that language chauvinism/hegemony will boomerang.
On Monday, MK Stalin launched a tirade against the Centre over the language issue and warned the BJP-led government not to force another language war by imposing Hindi.
He appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to give up attempts to make Hindi mandatory and uphold the unity of India instead.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan in a letter to PM Modi, demanded withdrawal of promoting any one language. "The essence of India is defined by the concept of 'unity in diversity' which acknowledges cultural & linguistic diversity. Promoting any one language above others would destroy integrity," Vijayan said as quoted by news agency ANI.
