Hyderabad: South Central Railway Cancels MMTS Trains Due To Heavy Rains

Trains running between Secunderabad, Medchal and Bollaram stations have also been cancelled.

Hyderabad: Due to heavy rains prediction, the South Central Railway (SCR) has cancelled 34 Multi-Modal Transport System (MMTS) trains in Hyderabad from July 14-17. Besides, 15 more passenger trains have also been announced as cancelled.

All the MMTS trains between Lingampalli - Hyderabad, Hyderabad - Lingampalli, Falaknuma - Lingampalli, Lingampalli - Falaknuma, Secunderabad - Lingampalli, Lingampalli - Secunderabad route train services have been cancelled, the South Central Railway zone in a statement said.

Trains running between Secunderabad, Medchal and Bollaram stations have also been cancelled.Secunderabad – Medchal – Secunderabad MEMU train service and Secunderabad – Bollaram – Secunderabad MEMU train have also been cancelled. Also, the railway officials revealed that two trains running between Kakinada Port and Vijayawada stations had been partially cancelled.

IMD Sounds Red Alert In Parts Of Telangana 

Red alert to continue in northern and eastern Telangana as India Meteorological Department (IMD) warned of very heavy rainfall for the next two days. Hyderabad's Meteorological Center has issued a red alert for Asifabad, Mancherial, Siricilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Mahabubabad, Warangal Rural, Warangal Urban and Jangaon districts.

Officials said that on Wednesday, 39.1 cm of rainfall was recorded in the Jainoor mandal of Asifabad district, which is the highest in the state. It is estimated that an average of 6.48 cm of rain has fallen across the state.
