The police announced the arrests and the recovery of weapons on Monday.

The police conducted a raid on the godown of JC Crafts located in Sowjanya Colony, Bowenpally, where they discovered three large swords with scabbards, one small dagger with a scabbard, and three imitation rifles.

According to the police, Vinay Sharma operated a business under the name of JC Crafts. Faced with a lack of profits, he devised a plan to sell swords, daggers, and imitation rifles, taking advantage of the demand for such items during the upcoming marriage season and festivals. He ordered the weapons from Rajasthan and disguised them as handicraft items for transportation and storage in his shop.

His son, Aakash, was involved in handling the sales of illegal weapons in the twin cities. The swords were sold at prices ranging from Rs 6,000 to Rs 15,000, depending on the buyer.

In a separate incident, authorities, including the Telangana State Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TSNAB), Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (H-NEW), and Banjara Hills police, successfully apprehended four individuals involved in drug peddling. The joint operation resulted in the seizure of 100 grams of cocaine and 300 grams of MDMA drugs with an estimated value of Rs 1 crore. The individuals arrested include three Nigerian nationals and one individual each from Kerala and Manikonda.
