Hyderabad: 19-Year-Old Student Arrested After His Car Mows Down Strikes Three Morning Walkers
The youth, who was allegedly under the influence of alcohol, rammed the car into morning walkers near Sun City in Bandlaguda Jagir on the outskirts of the Hyderabad.
A 19-year-old student has been arrested by Narsingi police on Tuesday after a car, allegedly driven recklessly by him, struck three pedestrians during their morning walk in Hyderabad. Badruddin Khadri, a BBA student at a private college, was apprehended following the incident near Sun City in Bandlaguda Jagir, located on the outskirts of the city, at approximately 7 am.
The victims have been identified as Kavita, Anuradha, and Anuradha's daughter Mamata. Eyewitnesses in the area reported that the car was being driven at a high speed and in a reckless manner, leading to the tragic collision. Subsequently, the vehicle veered off the road and collided with a tree.
CCTV cameras in the vicinity captured the entire incident, and a video clip of the collision has since gone viral on social media platforms. The footage clearly shows the car travelling at an extremely high speed, losing control while attempting to negotiate a turn, and striking the pedestrians. The force of the impact propelled the victims off the ground as the car crashed into a tree.
In an unrelated incident earlier, two individuals lost their lives when a container truck caught fire after colliding with another truck in Telangana's Medak district. The collision occurred on National Highway 44 at Kaslapur village in Narsingi Mandal.
The container truck, en route from Bengaluru to Hyderabad, collided with a stationary truck that had pulled over due to a tire puncture. The collision resulted in a fire within the container truck, causing the deaths of the driver and the cleaner. The deceased individuals have been identified as 25-year-old Nagaraju and 24-year-old Basvaraju.
Upon receiving the information, firefighters from Ramayampet promptly rushed to the scene and extinguished the flames. Police officials from Ramayampet and Narsingi have initiated an investigation into the incident, suspecting that the driver and cleaner were incapacitated before being engulfed by the fire.
