Huzurabad Bypolls: BJP Fields Former Telangana Minister Eatala Rajender, Implies Bitter Fight With Ruling TRS

Earlier this year in June, Eatala Rajender has joined BJP after being sacked by the ruling Telangana government over land grabbing charges

Hyderabad: In the much-awaited Huzurabad by-election slated for October 30, BJP has decided to field former Telangana Minister Etela Rajender, who in the month of June joined BJP from TRS.

On Saturday, the Praja Sangrama Yatra started by Telangana BJP President Bandi Sanjay had reached Huzurabad and grabbing the opportunity, Eatala Rajender lured people by making some promises and showing what has been lacking in TRS' rule. Quoting a Sanskrit phrase, he said: "Victory is ensured for the side standing with Dharma."

The BJP Leader Eatala Rajender Taking to Twitter said: "Huzurabad by election is a personal fight for CM K Chandrasekhar Rao as it is his struggle between self pride and Telangana's self-respect."

Speaking about the win in Huzurabad by polls, he further said, "There is 75 per cent winning chance for BJP while TRS to meagerly lose with 25 per cent."

Earlier this year in June, Rajender has joined BJP after being sacked by the ruling Telangana government over land grabbing charges. Rajender has served a Health and Family Welfare in KCR's cabinet till a month before he was sacked from the party. He resigned as a TRS MLA from Huzurabad constituency ending 19 years affiliation with the party.

Congress Announces Balmoori Venkat As Their Candidate

Meanwhile On Saturday, Congress has announced Balmoori Venkat Narsing Rao as their candidate at the Huzurabad byelection. All India Congress Committee (AICC) announced Balmoori's cadidature in a release. After much deliberation, the party had come to this decision as a section of leaders wanted the party to field Konda Surekha and others mentioned other veteran congress leaders.

Further the Telangana congress committee sought applications from the interested canditates and a dozen of cong leaders applied in which the party high command has selected Blamoori as their candidate for the Huzurabad bypolls.
