Centre Refutes Claims Of Telangana CM KCR Being Snubbed From PM Modi's Events

Singh went on to claim that it was rather CM Rao who was not presented at the event of unveiling the statue of renowned philosopher Ramanujacharya for which PM Modi visited Hyderabad.

New Delhi: The Centre on Thursday dismissed the claims by Telangana Minister KT Rama Rao that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was asked to stay away from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s programmes in the state.

Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office Jitendra Singh took to Twitter to claim that no such message was sent from the PMO.

“According to some media reports, the son of Telangana CM has claimed that PMO sent a message that Shri KCR should not be a part of PM's programs when he visited Hyderabad. This is patently untrue. No such message was sent by the PMO,” he wrote on Twitter.

Singh went on to claim that it was rather CM Rao who was not presented at the event of unveiling the statue of renowned philosopher Ramanujacharya for which PM Modi visited Hyderabad.

“Infact, the CM of Telangana was expected at the events on 5th February when PM visited Hyderabad. It was the CM’s office which informed the PMO that the CM was not feeling well and hence would not be attending,” he wrote in the tweet thread.

According to a report by news agency PTI, CM Rao was also not present when PM Modi visited vaccine maker Bharat Biotech facilities in November last year.

While the Telangana IT Minister KT Rama Rao claimed that it was the PMO that had asked the CM to stay away from Modi’s event in Hyderabad, the MoS Jitendra Singh rubbished the claim.
