BRS Leader K Kavitha Weaponising Women's Reservation Bill: Congress MP Manickam Tagore
Congress MP Manickam Tagore accused BRS of using women’s reservation as a weapon after knowing that they would get defeated in a big way in the Assembly elections.
After Telangana MLC Kavitha requested all parties to unite despite political differences to pass Women's Reservation Bill in the special Parliament Session to commence from September 18, Congress MP Manickam Tagore said that the Bill only remains as a slogan for these leaders. He said that BRS knows that they will get defeated in a big way in the Assembly elections so he accused the party leaders of using women’s reservation as a weapon.
On the Women's Reservation Bill, Congress MP Manickam Tagore said, "The way they (BRS) are going to be defeated in Telangana, particularly the sisters and mothers of Telangana are going to beat BRS in a very big way. Therefore she (K Kavitha) has taken the weapon called women's reservation.”

"It remains only a slogan for these kinds of leaders. We know that Kavitha and her father KCR had used women in the political mobilization," he said.
Further, Manickam Tagore said that whenever BJP brings the bill to the Parliament, Congress and the INDIA bloc will happily accept it. "Sonia Gandhi has always voiced for women's reservation and it was passed in the Rajya Sabha during the UPA term. We could not pass it in the Lok Sabha because we did not have the requisite numbers...Whenever the BJP brings the bill to the Parliament, Congress and the INDIA bloc will happily accept it," he said.
On Tuesday, Kavitha also sent an appeal to 47 political parties presidents including BJP and Congress chiefs regarding the Bill.
