Software giant Microsoft has surpassed Apple to claim the title of the world's largest company by market value, the media has reported. This shift in dominance is attributed to the surge in artificial intelligence (AI), introducing a new dimension to the enduring rivalry between these two major tech giants. The software company witnessed a 1 per cent rise in its shares, reaching a market value of $2.87 trillion, surpassing the iPhone maker. Meanwhile, the latter experienced a nearly 1 per cent decline in its shares.
Micron CEO Meets Telangana CM
Micron Technology's President and CEO, Sanjay Mehrotra, held discussions with Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy at his Hyderabad residence on Thursday. The CEO expressed satisfaction with Telangana's emergence as a prime investment destination and its strides in establishing manufacturing industries, according to a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).
Samsung Galaxy S24 May Launch With Exynos Chipset In India
Shortly ahead the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S24 series, a report suggest that the Indian versions of the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ will be powered by the in-house Exynos 2400 SoC instead of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip. Meanwhile, the pricier Galaxy S24 Ultra is expected to incorporate the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy, boasting a slightly higher clock speed compared to the standard chip found in other Android phones.
Poco X6 And X6 Pro Launched
The Poco X6 Pro smartphone made its official debut in India today (January 11), alongside the standard Poco X6 model. The base model features a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chip, while the Pro model is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8300-Ultra SoC. Both smartphones come with AMOLED displays with a 1.5K resolution and house 64-megapixel triple rear camera setups with OIS and EIS. The Poco X6 and X6 Pro are equipped with 5,100mAh and 5,000mAh batteries, and both support rapid charging at 67W.

Google Lays Off Hundreds, Including Fitbit Co-Founders
In a fresh round of mass layoffs, Google has laid off hundreds of employees including the co-founders of Fitbit. The exit of the co-founders of Fitbit might mark its end. As per a statement from the company to 9to5Google, the tech giant is laying off employees in Devices and Services teams (responsible for making products like Nest, and Fitbit) and in the Augmented Reality (AR) team. According to a Bloomberg report, employees working in the voice-based Google Assistant and at the augmented reality hardware team were the worst hit in these layoffs.
