No-Code Revolution: How Regular Users Are Becoming App Creators Without Coding Skills

As the no-code technology matures with the integration of AI, it is anticipated that more and more businesses will consider building applications via new-age platforms to save time, cost and effort.

The pace of digitalisation has accelerated in the past few years, thanks to the emergence of new-age technologies. Existing and emerging businesses have been climbing on the digital transformation bandwagon in a bid to get a competitive advantage, reach new customers and significantly improve business processes. In this regard, app development has gained significant ground in the nation owing to a substantial surge in the number of smartphone users. According to a report by Statista, India has more than one billion smartphone users in 2023.

In a bid to tap this huge market, emerging entrepreneurs have been seeking effective ways to build applications quickly. However, this requires massive costs, extensive coding experience as well as sufficient time. These challenges have now been addressed by the no-code platforms that allow users to create apps for their needs without any special requirement of coding skills. As a result, they are gaining huge popularity among businesses and individuals.

Exploring No-Code Platforms

No-code platforms allow for application development for users by utilising a simple visual development interface. This allows individuals who have significant institutional knowledge and also understand a brand’s requirement for an application but have no coding experience, to build an application in a hassle-free manner. The main advantage users can get with these platforms is a cost-efficient app building with no extensive training. In addition, there is also provision for customisable functions that allow for quick iterations.

These platforms separate programming languages and syntax from logic and instead take a visual approach that enables rapid delivery of applications. Although there is a lot of coding involved in the process, however, it takes place behind the scenes. The heavy lifting is done by the no-code tool that leverages data encapsulation and abstraction. As a result, users without bearing the hassle of any coding can use simple manoeuvres such as drag and drop to build an application successfully. However, the main superpowers of the platform are its seamless features.

Seamless Features

With technology advancing at an unprecedented rate, it is now possible for users to create high-end business applications with no code platforms. This is owing to the platform’s capability to support several rich functionalities and its myriad features.

Drag and drop interface: This feature facilitates the ease of use of the no-code platforms. Users can simply drag and drop the functions they require for their applications. Moreover, to ease the processes, the platform also has pre-built template galleries.

Workflow modelling: No-code platforms also allow the users to lay out workflows in a visual format. This enables them to manage, optimise and streamline all the processes seamlessly without even having to engage in the coding language.

Variety of integrations: Users can integrate no code platforms with other existing systems such as payment gateways, CRM (customer relationship management) systems and more.

Visual reports and analytics: This feature allows individuals to get deep insights into their customer’s preferences via visual reports. It also has the capability to process large amounts of data quickly with the help of analytics.

Exceptional data management: It eliminates the creation of multiple spreadsheets and allows the users to store the data in a single place. This data can be procured easily whenever the user requires it.

No-Code Is Here To Stay

With increasing emphasis on rapid digitalisation, businesses across various industries are paying utmost attention to creating applications to proliferate their reach in the markets. No-code platforms are making this process easier by allowing them to create high-end business applications. With features such as drag and drop interface, workflow modelling, and variety of integrations, and visual reports and analytics, these platforms are an all-in-one solution for emerging startups and existing businesses alike.

As the no-code technology matures with the integration of AI, it is anticipated that more and more businesses will consider building applications via new-age platforms to save time, cost and effort. According to a study by Gartner, the no-code and low-code platform market will grow 20% in 2023 to reach $10 billion and further touch $12.3 billion in 2024. This data essentially showcases that the future of the no-code platforms is bright and the market will experience more innovation and growth in the coming years. By allowing any user to create seamless applications, no-code platforms have emerged as an exciting development in the realm of technology.
