Google Gemini For Android Might Let You Make Calls & Send Messages From Locked Screen
Although Google has yet to announce the official release of this feature, it is expected to become more widely available in the coming months.
Google AI chatbot Gemini is being widely used by users across the globe. To cater to this wide demand, Google keeps on experimenting new features to enhance the overall user experience. As a part of that mission, Google is reportedly improving the Gemini AI assistant on Android phones. As per a report by 9to5Google, Gemini will soon let users make calls and send messages without requiring them to unlock their phones.
The latest beta version of the Google app brings an exciting new feature designed to enhance the user experience by offering more functionality with the device locked. This update introduces an option titled "Make calls and send messages without unlocking" within the Gemini on Lock Screen settings. Once activated, this feature enables users to ask the Gemini assistant to make a phone call or send a message without the need to unlock their device first. However, users will need to configure their calling and messaging apps within Gemini to enable this feature.

Currently, Google only allows interaction with the assistant for tasks like answering questions, setting reminders, or adding events to the calendar when the device is locked. With this new update, Gemini's capabilities are significantly expanded, allowing it to handle a broader range of tasks even when the phone is secured.
Although Google has yet to announce the official release of this feature, it is expected to become more widely available in the coming months.
Gemini Extension For Spotify
In another news, Google has also introduced a new Gemini extension for Spotify. This feature allows users to use the AI assistant on Android to search for and play music on the platform.
By simply asking Gemini, users can search for specific songs, albums, artists, playlists, and more. Similar functionality has also been integrated with YouTube Music, giving users seamless control over their music experience across both platforms.
