Microsoft Unveils Its First Cloud-Based PC Microsoft Windows 365 Link: Check Price, Specifications

Microsoft has announced that the Microsoft Windows 365 Link will be priced at $349 and will be available for purchase in select markets starting in April 2025.

Microsoft introduced its first cloud-based PC, Windows 365 Link, recently at the Ignite 2024 event. Windows 365 Link is quite compact and lightweight in nature which makes it similar to the Apple Mac Mini. However, unlike the Apple Mac Mini, Windows 365 Link only runs in cloud.

Microsoft while talking about its latest offering said, “Windows 365 Link is a new way to experience Windows 365. It offers desk-based users a responsive, high-fidelity, cloud-powered productivity experience, while helping to protect corporate data, reduce endpoint management work, and advance sustainability.”

Windows 365 Link: Price, Availability

Microsoft has announced that the device will be priced at $349 and will be available for purchase in select markets starting in April 2025. Interested users can register for the preview program by December 15, 2024.

The preview will be accessible in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan. However, there is no confirmation yet on whether the device will launch in India.

Windows 365 Link: Features

The Windows 365 Link supports dual 4K monitors and includes multiple connectivity options, such as four USB ports, an Ethernet port, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.3. According to Microsoft, the latest offering i.e., Windows 365 Link ensures effortless integration with both wired and wireless peripherals. As a cloud-based PC, Microsoft Windows 365 leverages its local processing power to deliver exceptional video playback and conferencing capabilities, including high-quality Microsoft Teams meetings.

Notably, the operating system is secured with no local data storage, no installed apps, and no local administrator accounts, enhancing its security and streamlining management.

Microsoft said, “By eliminating local data and apps, as well as admin rights, Windows 365 Link significantly reduces the attack surface, making it more difficult for malicious actors to compromise the device.”
