'You Will Never Rule Tamil Nadu', Rahul Gandhi Tells Union Govt In Lok Sabha
While leaving the Parliament, the Congress leader also said that he's a Tamil.
Chennai: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in a fiery speech at the Parliament on Wednesday slammed the BJP-led government and said that they can never rule over the Tamil people in their entire life. Quoting Tamil Nadu multiple times in his speech, Rahul Gandhi also said that India cannot be ruled like a kingdom.
The Congress leader speaking as the first from Opposition during the debate on Motion of Thanks to President said, “You will never ever in your entire life rule over the Tamil people. It has never been done in 3,000 years, you can look at Ashoka, Maurya kingdoms it has always been ruled by conversation and negotiation.”
“The problem is you people think that you can suppress the language, culture and histories. You have no idea what you're dealing with,” he said.

“The Congress leader said, “The people of Tamil Nadu have inside their heart have an idea of Tamil Nadu and Tamil language and also the idea of India. The Kerala people have an idea of their culture and tradition in their hearts. This is our strength. So, I learn from the people of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Rajasthan and even you.”
Rahul Gandhi then went on to say that people of Tamil Nadu do not have a space in the frame of the Centre since for them only king has a voice. He said, “The idea of Tamil Nadu is excluded from Indian institutions. They can keep coming to you again and again with NEET. You'll just tell them to get out because you do not have a space in your frame. Only the king has a voice.”
Even while leaving the Parliament on Wednesday, the Congress who was asked by the media persons about why he mentioned the southern state in the speech said, "Tamil Hoon na" (I'm a Tamil).
