'Why No Panel For Manipur': DMK's Saravanan Questions BJP Over Team To Probe Arrest Of Cadre In Tamil Nadu

Earlier, BJP national president JP Nadda formed a four-member delegation to inquire about the arrest of the party cadres in Tamil Nadu.

On the day BJP delegation formed to inquire about the arrest of party cadres in Tamil Nadu visited Chennai, DMK Spokesperson Saravanan Annadurai called it just a "hogwash". Saravanan asked why BJP had not constituted any committee to determine what was happening in Manipur. Earlier, BJP national president JP Nadda formed a four-member delegation to inquire about the arrest of the party cadres.

According to PTI, DMK Spokesperson Saravanan Annadurai on Saturday said, "It's just a hogwash. What about the earlier committees which were constituted to look into the various things within the BJP? Why hasn't the BJP constituted any committee to find out what's happening in Manipur?"

After BJP workers were arrested for installing a flagpole, BJP national president JP Nadda formed a four-member committee of senior leaders to conduct a probe and submit a report to the party HQ. The delegation led by former Karnataka CM DV Sadananda Gowda included members MP Satya Pal Singh and BJP AP state president Purandeswari among others.

On Saturday, the BJP delegation visited Chennai. BJP leader DV Sadananda Gowda, said, "We visited all the places where our party workers were harassed. We hearing about the ground reality...They (DMK) are afraid of BJP because we are growing in Tamil Nadu."

Last Saturday, a huge number of BJP members reportedly assembled near TN BJP chief Annamalai's residence and attempted to block the police from dismantling the party's flagpole. This resulted in a commotion where the party's IT wing state secretary Vivin Bhaskaran sustained severe injuries.

Following this, Tambaram police arrested six functionaries including TN BJP Sports Cell chief Amar Prasad Reddy. The arrested BJP workers were produced before a magistrate court in Tambaram and sent to judicial custody till November 3.

After the turn of events, Annamalai vouched that his party would build 10,000 flagpoles across the state.
