Last Saturday, a huge number of BJP members reportedly assembled near TN BJP chief Annamalai's residence and attempted to block the police from dismantling the party's flagpole. This resulted in a commotion where the party's IT wing state secretary Vivin Bhaskaran sustained severe injuries.
Following this, Tambaram police arrested six functionaries including TN BJP Sports Cell chief Amar Prasad Reddy. The arrested BJP workers were produced before a magistrate court in Tambaram and sent to judicial custody till November 3.
After the turn of events, Annamalai vouched that his party would build 10,000 flagpoles across the state.
