'Ungalil Oruvan': Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi Releases TN CM Stalin's Autobiography In Chennai

The event was also attended by Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Bihar's Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav among others.

Chennai: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi released Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin's first part of autobiography "Ungalil Oruvan" (One Among You) at Chennai Trade Centre on Monday. The first copy of the book was received by Tamil Nadu Minister S Duraimurugan.

According to a report on IANS, the event was attended by Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Bihar's Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav. Several other senior leaders also attended the event on Monday.

The stage set on Monday appeared more like a political meeting of major Opposition parties with Anti-BJP sentiments.

All the speakers of the event also criticised BJP and PM Modi-led government. While addressing the gathering, Stalin said that the Indian constitution should be amended to provide more rights for the states. Our Indian Union is facing a big threat against divisive forces and we all should come together to defeat them, as per a report on The Hindustan Times.

The Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also attacked PM Modi by alleging that the PM does not listen to the voices of Tamil Nadu on NEET and GST.

The BJP is fighting against history and tradition. So they will be defeated, he said.

Meanwhile, state leaders Omar Abdullah said that he does not come as a victim but as a warning of what can happen.

The Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan said, Stalin was one of the first to stand up in defense of federalism.

The communal and authoritarian powers hold sway in our country today so we all should stand united and in defense of our democracy, he said.

The event has also come at a time when West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and her Telangana counterpart K Chandrasekhar Rao are traveling across the country seeking the support of Opposition leaders to likely form a possible coalition against the BJP. However, both the parties are against Congress being part of the coalition.
