TN Woman Says Husband, In-Laws Forced Her To Have 'Health Drink' That Caused Miscarriage. 4 Booked
All four of the accused have been booked for reportedly harassing the woman and forcing her to drink the medicine that led to an abortion.
Chennai: A 35-year-old man was arrested in Cuddalore along with his mother on charges of harassing his pregnant wife in demand for more dowry and causing a miscarriage.
The woman accused that her husband, his siblings and mother gave her a drink under the disguise of a "health drink" that led to the termination of pregnancy.
According to the Times of India report, the police arrested P Ayyapan alias Saravanan and his mother Malliga in Cuddalore and also started a manhunt operation for Saravanan's siblings P Revathi and Kavitha.
All four of the accused have been booked for reportedly harassing the woman and forcing her to drink the medicine that led to an abortion.

However, after the woman moved the police, Saravanan’s siblings went on a run.
According to the police, Saravanan and Narmatha got married on May 25 last year with Narmatha's family giving a dowry of 25 sovereigns of gold.
However, a few days after the marriage, Saravanan along with his mother and sisters started harassing Narmatha with a demand for another 25 sovereigns of gold and Rs 5 lakh.
The woman lodged a complaint at Thiruppapuliyur police station, which booked the four accused under charges of performing obscene acts, causing miscarriage without the consent of woman, husband or relative subjecting woman to cruelty and criminal intimidation of the Indian Penal Code.
