TN Local Body Polls 2022: OPS & EPS Appeal To Party Workers 'To Save AIADMK'
Further, the AIADMK leaders urged the party workers to take the pledge on the 70th birth anniversary of former TN CM J Jayalalithaa on February 24.
Chennai: After facing one of the worst defeats in the urban local body elections, AIADMK coordinator O Panneerselvam and AIADMK co-coordinator Edappadi K Palaniswami appealed to the party cadre to take a pledge to 'save AIADMK'.
On the 70th birth anniversary of former Tamil Nadu CM J Jayalalithaa (February 24), the AIADMK leaders urged the party workers to take a pledge to save the party and ensure its victory in the next elections.
In a release on Tuesday, O Panneerselvam and Edappadi K Palaniswami in a joint statement said, "Victory and loses in elections are faced by everyone. So we all should resolve to save the party, work for the people and complete the work left for us by J Jayalalithaa instead of feeling defeated."

Further, both the leaders also recalled the saying of the former CM that AIADMK will remain in power for the next 1000 years and work for the people even after her demise.
Hence, the AIADMK leaders told the party cadres to take the pledge and work towards the goal set by the former TN CM.

In the recently concluded elections, AIADMK won 164 wards in corporations, 638 wards in municipalities and 1,206 wards in panchayat polls out of the total 12,837 wards independently contested by the party. In one of the worst defeats faced by the party, AIADMK even lost its western bastion including Coimbatore, Tirupur, Pollachi and Erode districts.
