TN ED Officer Arrest: Congress Blames Directorate, BJP Asks Not To Politicise Individual's Misconduct
A man named Ankit Tiwari was caught by Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) sleuths after he reportedly received Rs 20 lakh as bribe money from a doctor.
On the day when an Enforcement Directorate officer working in Madurai was arrested for accepting a bribe of Rs 20 lakh from a doctor, Tamil Nadu political leaders were divided. Congress blamed the Enforcement Directorate, while the BJP stated that it was unfair to implicate the entire department for the misconduct of an individual. A man named Ankit Tiwari was caught by Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) sleuths after he received Rs 20 lakh bribe money from the doctor, news agency PTI reported.

If he was innocent, he could have faced them and why did he run away at the time..."

Congress MP Manickam Tagore said, "ED = Extortion Department. How a Department lost its credibility because of Shah’s control and it has become the ATS of Gujarat now. #ED."
Addressing reporters in Thoothukudi, TN BJP chief Annamalai stated, "Simply because an individual is at fault, it does not justify implicating the entire Enforcement Directorate. If a person is in the wrong within the TN police department, it is inappropriate to condemn the entire department. Likewise, whoever has been found engaging in misconduct within ED should face appropriate action."
"However, let's not politicize this. Don't paint ED. The politicians in TN lack maturity," he said.
