A 30-year-old tree was uprooted near Tharangambadi on Wednesday morning affecting vehicle movements. However, firefighters team immediately reached the spot and cleared the tree.

According to PTI, Lakes overflow in Chennai, Chengalpattu and Kanchipuram amid heavy rainfall in Tamil Nadu.

The district administration of Ariyalur, Thanjavur, Villupuram, Tiruvannamalai, Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur and Cuddalore also declared a holiday due to the rains.
On Tuesday, IMD said, "Under the influence of yesterday’s upper air cyclonic circulation over Andaman-Nicobar Islands and adjoining areas of Andaman Sea & Southeast Bay of Bengal, a Low Pressure Area has formed at 0530 hrs IST of today, the 14th November 2023 over Southeast Bay of Bengal & adjoining areas and lay at 0830 hrs IST over the same region."
It is likely to move west-northwestwards and concentrate into a Depression over westcentral Bay of Bengal on 15th November, 2023, it said.
