Hours after celebrating his wedding anniversary, a Chennai techie killed his wife and two children in Pallavaram

New Delhi: Hours after celebrating his wedding anniversary, a Chennai techie killed his wife and two children in Pallavaram. After a preliminary investigation, police said that the four reportedly died on Friday night, and they have been identified as Prakash, 43, Gayathri, 39, their daughter Nithyashri, 12, and son Hari, 7.

The techie worked with a renowned IT company while his wife ran a shop. They had two children. Police found the four dead bodies in a pool of blood in the living room of their house in Pallavaram on Saturday, said a Times of India report.

According to an Indian Express report, Tambaram Commissioner M Ravi confirmed that a suicide note has been recovered from the spot. Prakash and his wife Gayathri's signatures were present on the suicide note as the note suggested, the decision was taken by both husband and wife, said the police.

"We have seized the note and are investigating the case from various angles. He (Prakash) had purchased an electric wood-cutting machine online. Using that, he may have first killed his wife and then his children before killing himself. The machine was delivered to Prakash’s residence on May 19. All this information is just a part of the initial investigation, we have to further analyse his phone and need to check if anyone had harassed or provoked them to take this extreme step," the police officer said, as quoted by Indian Express.

Based on the preliminary inquiries, police reportedly said that high debts might have pushed Prakash to take this step.
