Tamil Nadu: Madras HC Orders To Form Special Investigation Team To Probe Ramajeyam Murder Case
The brother of Minister KN Nehru, Ramajeyam, was abducted by unidentified miscreants and was brutally murdered in March 2012.
Chennai: The Madras High Court on Wednesday ordered to form a special investigation team to probe the abduction and murder of Tiruchy Ramajeyam -- the younger brother of Tamil Nadu Minister for Municipal Administration, Urban and Water Supply KN Nehru. The Court ordered the formation of a special team since there was no conclusion in the case even as CBI and CBCID investigated the case for 10 years.
According to a report on ABP Nadu, a petition was moved by Ramajeyam's brother KN Ravichandran who said that there was no development in the CBI investigation and requested the court to transfer the probe back to Tamil Nadu police.
On Wednesday, the case came up for hearing before Justice Bharathidasan who ordered to form a special investigation team to probe the case.

The bench was directed to form a three-member team under Thoothukudi SP Jeyakumar. The probe appointed CB-CID officer Shakeel Akhtar to monitor the probe.
The bench also told to include Chennai CBI officer Ravi and instructed that no other case should be allocated to the CBI officer until the investigation in the case is completed.
The court also directed the team to submit a report every 15 days to the court to learn about the progress of the case. The court then adjourned the case to March 7.
The brother of Minister KN Nehru, Ramajeyam, was abducted by unidentified miscreants and was brutally murdered in March 2012. Hours after the incident, his body was recovered from a bush on the banks of River Cauvery. His body bore severe head injury and he was gagged before the death. On the day of the death, Minister KN Nehru was seen crying inconsolably.
Ramajeyam and Nehru were earlier booked in a land grabbing case and were charged for forcibly acquiring land for Arivalayam, DMK headquarters in Chennai.
