Tamil Nadu: Father, Three Sons Booked For Raping Foster Daughter In Chennai

Based on the complaint, the accused were arrested and remanded into judicial custody on Tuesday.

Chennai: A 65-year-old man and his three sons were booked under POCSO Act for raping his 17-year-old foster daughter for the past two years in Chennai. The police arrested the man and two sons on Tuesday while they are on the lookout to nab the youngest son. 

The police also arrested the man’s wife for failing to report the crime. 

According to a report on The New Indian Express, the issue came to light after the girl shared her sufferings with her biological siblings recently.

When the survivor was just a month old, the girl was sold to her foster parents by her biological parents. The biological parents arrived at the decision since they already had four children and they could not afford the living expense of another child.

After the baby was sold, the biological father of the girl died a year later and her mother died three years back. 

Following this, the family members of her foster home started abusing her. The youngest brother first sexually abused her when she was 15 and then all of them including the father raped her regularly.

Recently, the issue came to light when the survivor met her biological siblings at a wedding and opened up to them about the sexual assault. With their help, she lodged a complaint with the all-women police station in Chennai. 

Based on the complaint, the accused were arrested and remanded into judicial custody on Tuesday.
